Spring is here!!! well......maybe not

I do love the first snow of winter.

Maybe it’s just the change of seasons that I like, or just the quiet of the snow landing on the ground covering all the cold, brown leaves and dry grass. It is beautiful.

But it’s the end of February and although it hasn’t been a terribly cold winter out here in Amarillo, Texas, I am ready for the Spring! The last month has been some amazing days of 70 and shorts! Fresh air, a hint of green and then WHAM! we get hit with a snowstorm and it’s 10 degrees outside! Gradually it will warm up again, hit that 70 mark and then BAM! here comes the snow AGAIN!

Sunday was really nice, it is now Thursday and I woke up to snow falling on the ground. Not much, I think it has already melted but it is still so COLD outside!

I am looking out my window, wanting to start working on my yard and get a garden going. Not much, some tomatoes, green beans are always fun to grow, herbs definitely and maybe we will try some potatoes and squash!

Gardening is something we have always enjoyed doing with our kids. We don’t keep it up all that well throughout the summer. Weeds take over and we forget to water. But the excitement of seeing that first little green shot peek out of the ground is so much fun! Plus, it gets us outside doing things with our family.

What about you? ready for Spring and gardening? what is your favorite thing to plant?
