Banana bread

It’s been a while since we have gotten around to writing a blog post! It’s almost MAY!

We’ve been finishing up custom orders on our Wahoo game boards, making backstock of our wood-stained boards, and getting creative with our domino sets :)

And I have been making a lot of Banana Bread! Chris lucked out at the store and picked up several bags of bananas they were clearancing-out- so far, I have made 9 loaves of banana bread! They make great gifts for friends and neighbors, and banana bread also freezes really well too.

Here’s our recipe for the best banana bread!

Carrie’s homemade banana bread

1 cube of butter ( 8 Tbs ) softened

3/4 c. sugar OR honey

3 ripe bananas- mashed

2 eggs

1 tea. vanilla

dash or two of nutmeg

1/2 tea salt

1 tea. baking soda

1 1/2 c Whole wheat flour

1-3 tbs milk ( if needed)

optional:

1c walnuts or pecans

1c. chocolate chips OR raisins

I use an electric mixer for this recipe

Preheat oven to 350

Cream butter and sugar( or honey). add bananas, and mix. Add eggs and vanilla- mix well. Add salt and nutmeg- mix. Add 1 c flour and baking soda- mix. Add milk, if the batter is too thick, and then add the rest of the flour and mix everything together for about 1 min.

Gently stir in nuts, chocolate chips, or raisins, if you are using any.

I like to line my bread pans with parchment paper, but you can also oil or butter your pan to keep it from sticking. Adding chocolate chips makes it stick more in the pan without the parchment paper.

Pour the batter into 1 regular-size loaf pan or 2 smaller loaf pans- back at 350 for 55- 58 minutes. let cool for 5-10 minutes before removing the bread from the pan to finish cooling it on a cooling rack. Cool completely before wrapping up to freeze.

Enjoy!
