Thanksgiving game time with friends

It's quiet. We are all sitting around the table, there are chips and salsa bowls scattered on the table. A half full glass of iced tea is now watered down and sitting in its own ring. A couple games are stacked on the corner of the table. Chris gets up and paces a little, figuring out his next move. Zach picks his game piece up and slowly places it on the board where he would like to go. Kara and I look at the cards to see what that move means for the rest of us. Chris has stopped pacing and comes back to the table for the card flip. Zach exhales slowly as we find out where the new Zombies will be attacking from.

And so the conversation naturally turns to the best weapons to use for a zombie appocolypse. Who would we allow in our group? What resources do each of us bring, should the world end and we have to fight off hoards of walking dead.

Hammers always seem readily available in these senerios, but c'mon can you ever find a hammer when you need to hang a picture on the wall?

We all talk about our strengths we could bring to our small band of survivors. Chris can build a shelter and he is great at leading and managing. Zach is a problem solver and tech genius. He will be in charge of making a radio out of soup cans. Kara has a medical background and the ability to bring calm to stressful situations and I can provide the cave painting to both decorate and tell the story of our lives.

So next time you are sitting round with your friends or family, pull out a board game. You just might find out who will survive the zombie apocalypse with you.
